Johns Hopkins University Sr. Student Affairs Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is seeking a skilled administrative professional with events support experience for the position of Sr. Student Affairs Coordinator . The Sr. Student Affairs Coordinator will help manage graduate student events and student organizations, organize student trainings and recognition events, and serve as project management support for major areas of the Office of Student Affairs such as policy compliance and graduation logistics.

The successful candidate must be able to collaborate, communicate effectively, prioritize multiple tasks, take a proactive approach to work on assignments, and take initiative in the anticipation of future needs of the Student Affairs team at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Student Organizations Programming Support (75%)

  • Coordinate with key campus partners in other units of the university and outside organizations regarding student engagement, inclusion, and success initiatives.

  • Collaborate specifically with Career and Life Design and Alumni Relations to maximize Student Organization effectiveness and impact.

  • Support program design and delivery for Student Organizations. Program focus areas include community impact events, networking, conferences, and other key events.

  • Develop and deliver appropriate educational resources for Student Organization leaders such as trainings, regular communications, and webinars

  • Assist Student Organizations with support and knowledge regarding University and School policies and procedures.

  • Provide content and maintain communication channels for all Student Organizations, including online event platform, social media and Carey web page.

  • Manage some financial activity for Student Organizations, including budget tracking.

  • Help to increase membership of identity-based diversity organizations.

  • Provide operational support and assist with managing logistics for student programs and events hosted by Student Organizations.

  • Organize and lead the planning of end-of-the-year recognition events for student organizations, student, faculty, and staff.

Student Affairs Project Management (15%)

  • Support the planning and execution of OSA activities and school/university-wide activities such as: orientations, student engagement programming, university-wide student initiatives such as the Health and Wellness initiatives, etc.

  • Support the Office of Student Affairs with developing and implementing a comprehensive design and logistics plan for all student programming.

  • Provide support with the Leave of Absence & Reinstatement process.

  • Work with Johns Hopkins University partners (central administration, Student Health and Well Being, International Services, etc.) to maintain updated enrollment information on students on leave of absence.

  • Support the planning and execution of Carey Commencement and other year-end celebrations.

  • Ability to work flexible hours is required, including weekends and evening and able to work occasional overtime throughout the academic year.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.

  • Four years progressively responsible administrative experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Student Affairs experience, specifically with student organizations, is highly preferred.

Role/Level/Range: ATO 37.5/03/OF

Starting Salary Range: $21.00 - $36.50 HRLY ($56,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Full Time

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:30-5:00 with occassional evening or weekend hours to support student events

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
