Johns Hopkins University Sr Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The Division of Psychiatric Neuroimaging is seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator who will be responsible for protocol implementation and providing support to the Principal Investigator in research-related activities to accomplish the goals of privately and publicly funded research projects and achieve the mission of the Division. This position will oversee day-to-day activities of complex and/or multiple studies.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Sr. Research Program Coordinator will be involved in scientific discussions with collaborators, Principal Investigators, and funding organizations to support project planning.

  • Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms from protocols.

  • Coordinate day-to-day operations of imaging studies. Write study protocols and develop regulatory strategies/SOPs that build on existing templates and workflow for brain imaging protocols (documentation checklists, implementation workflows). Monitor progress and the well-managed implementation of human subject brain imaging research.

  • The Sr. Research Program Coordinator will assist in preparation of IRB protocol applications/changes in research, grant progress reports, and annual IRB continuing reviews.

  • Participate in developing study budget.

  • Work with other study coordinators to support overall study implementation as needed.

  • Recommend changes to protocol operations based on results and goals.

  • Assist the Research Program manager in training and oversight of other study staff, as needed.

  • Organize and manage original data files/databases for research documentation and analyses. Monitor and conduct regular quality control checks of data collection, documentation, and storage.

  • Coordinate and contribute to research manuscripts.

  • Organize meetings, conferences, and seminars.

  • Perform miscellaneous-related duties as assigned.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Attention to detail a must. Good proofreading skills.

  • Excellent oral communication skills to deal effectively within and outside the department.

  • Excellent written communications skills in a variety of forms, print material, website content, speeches, and publicity materials.

  • Skilled in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher.

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn about the work of the department as well to acquire new technical skills as needed.

  • Excellent organizational skills to work effectively in an environment that requires balancing multiple assignments.

  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels and from diverse cultures.

Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications

  • All IRB-required courses, appropriate study related certifications/training-required.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods.

  • Able to reach by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.

  • Finger dexterity required, able to manipulate objects with fingers rather than entire hand(s) or arm(s), e.g., use of computer keyboard.

  • Communication skills using the spoken word.

  • Ability to see within normal parameters.

  • Ability to hear within normal range.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Three years related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or related field, and experience in neuropsychological test administration, MRI scanning and analyses, and adhering to IRB protocols.

Starting Salary Range: $40,900 - $71,600 Annually ($60,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Full Time

Schedule: M-F, 8:30-5:00
