Johns Hopkins University Sr. Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full time Sr Research Program Coordinator (Sr RPC) to work in the division of General Pediatrics. The Sr RPC will be responsible for the administrative and programmatic aspects of pediatric population health and health equity research projects. The multidisciplinary research agenda includes a focus on the role of adversity and health and interventions to promote health equity for children and their families. Methods and approaches used include those from epidemiology, neuroscience, epigenetics, prevention science, health policy, and child development. The Sr. RPC will gain experience with an array of research tools and will develop and/or deepen skills in program management and implementation, data management and analyses, grant writing, scientific writing, and presentations. The successful candidate will contribute to drafting and editing presentations and publications, including preparing and modifying tables, figures, and references for publication; these will also be robust opportunity for authorship and professional presentations. The RPC will also support the work of the Rales Center for the Integration of Health and Integration and the General Academic Pediatrics Fellowship program.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead data management.

  • Plan and manage study and program meetings, distributing action items and monitoring their completion.

  • Create and manage IRB applications, amendments and reports.

  • Assist the principal investigator in defining the study design, contribute in the development of study protocols and data collection instruments and systems including web-based surveys, and REDCap databases.

  • Assist with preparing and managing reports to funders.

  • Develop reports on a study as required by the principal investigators and/or external agencies.

  • Respond in a timely manner to special projects or queries related to the data.

  • Manage and organize study databases, ensuring data quality, data cleaning and management.

  • Conduct mentored data analysis using statistics programs such as Stata or R with support.

  • Assist with grant preparation and submission.

  • Develop literature reviews, scientific papers, presentations, and posters in collaboration with research teams.

  • Create and/or manage study and program websites.

  • Prepare for and participate in monitoring and audits of studies.

  • Correct errors in database when necessary.

  • Write responses to audit reports with input from the Principal Investigator.

  • Meet regularly with Principal Investigators and other team members to review data accuracy and overall progress.

  • Participate in all mandatory meetings.

  • Supervise student research assistants, as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including scientific writing.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of participant data.

  • Enthusiasm about working with young people, parents, and community organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Three years related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with REDCap or another similar database program.

  • Experience with GIS.

Role/Level/Range: ACRP/03/MB

Starting Salary Range: $40,900 - $71,600 Annually ($60,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Full Time

Schedule: M-F - 37.5 hours total
