Johns Hopkins University Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The Department of Neurology is seeking a Research Program Coordinator who will coordinate clinical trials and other clinical research projects in the Johns Hopkins Multiple Sclerosis Center. This may involve, but is not limited to data monitoring, screening medical records, identifying appropriate patients, consenting study participants, performing data collection and entry, obtaining and processing specimens (e.g., blood, urine), organizing regulatory paperwork.

Specific Duties & rRsponsibilities

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all assigned protocols and projects and their reporting requirements and adhere to all protocol and regulatory requirements to ensure the validity of the clinical research data.

  • Work directly with the principal investigators, research managers, and other study coordinators to execute multiple study protocols.

  • Assist with the amendment of existing protocols or development of new study protocols.

  • Attend clinics, screen potential participants, and carry out research-related procedures daily.

  • Monitor, schedule, and execute participants’ study visits and assist in reconciling study related invoices.

  • Manage and maintain all participant binders, study binders, and documentation for the study

  • Assist the principal investigators in preparing for audits, advertising for the studies, implementing new recruitment strategies, and preparing reports for the IRB as well as handling and documenting IRB correspondence.

  • May attend educational lectures and conferences.

  • Conduct database management.

  • The position reports to the TREAT-MS Project Director, with an indirect reporting line to the faculty principal investigators of the clinical research projects.

Additional Knowledge, Skills & abilities

  • Must be able to work independently complete tasks, work with others to problem solve, be detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy skills preferred (or willingness to be trained within first six months of employment).

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)
